Shoppers turn to retailers for mobile coupon deals

This means consumers are going to the brands they are most familiar with and what is most convenient while their shopping -- many are not going through the trouble of downloading an app to use regularly.
When consumers do use apps, Nielsen found that Groupon, which Wall Street is currently bashing, is the most popular among shoppers who use their smartphones to shop. Ninety-one percent of shoppers said they use a Groupon app on their smartphone, compared with 60 percent who use it on a tablet. Other apps, like Living Social and Google Offers, trail behind.
